ARTIST/CARTOGRAPHER/ENGRAVER: The coast line from surveys made by Staff Commanders W.E. Archdeacon and F. Howard, Royal Navy and Colonial Government Officers, 1879-1880. The adjacent islands and soundings are chiefly on the authority of Matthew Flinders Commander of H.M.S. "Investigator" 1802. Between Esperance B. and Pollock Reef from surveys by Commander J.W. Combe, R.N. and the Officers of H.M. Surveying Ship "Penguin" 1897-1901
